The No-Protocol Protocol
Protocols are becoming more and more commonplace which I think has many negative consequences as it effects peoples ability to be critical and dynamic and seems to lead to a more static lifestyle.
Critiques:
- Causes Dogmatism
- Reduces critical thinking
- Boxes you in
- Reduces the ability to solve problems and correct errors
When its good:
- Sick people
- Personal Experimentation
Alternative:
- FOCUS ON UNDERSTANDING. Understanding means protocol thinking is irrelevant. If you are not doing something that is good its likely because you actually lack some understanding and don't realize just how good it is (or maybe its not that good). The same goes for when you are doing something bad- its not a lack of discipline or something, its usually just a lack of genuine understanding.
- This means that I aim for very good understanding and explanations of things that I do (or don't do) for health and the rest seems to take care of itself.
